Brandon S. Childs, MD

Dr. Childs is a board-certified urologist at Granger Medical Clinic specializing in minimally invasive prostate surgery and comprehensive urologic care. A native of the Salt Lake Valley, he completed his urology residency at Lahey Hospital and Medical Center in Boston — with additional training at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, a Harvard Medical School affiliate, before returning home to build his practice in the community where he grew up.

Since joining Granger Medical in 2022, Dr. Childs has developed one of the highest-volume HoLEP practices in the Mountain West, performing nearly 1,000 holmium laser enucleation of the prostate (HoLEP) procedures and establishing a regional reputation for excellence in surgical BPH management. He is board certified by the American Board of Urology.

Dr. Childs employs the most advanced HoLEP techniques available — including the en bloc approach with early apical release — and routinely achieves same-day catheter removal and same-day discharge for most patients, a benchmark that reflects both his surgical mastery and his commitment to minimizing disruption to patients’ lives.

His philosophy is straightforward: every patient deserves a clear understanding of all available treatment options, presented honestly and without bias toward any particular procedure. He takes time to ensure patients are fully informed and active participants in their own care decisions.

Dr. Childs offers a full scope of urologic services for men and women, with particular expertise in prostate surgery and kidney stone management. He is passionate about bringing the highest level of specialty care to patients in the Salt Lake Valley and throughout Utah — without the wait times or complexity of a large academic system.
